In fact, she got a repeat theme of my oldests 1st birthday party... the Duckie Party. While the cake was the SAME exact cake I did for Charlotte AND I had the ball pit again, I DID however change the decor and party favors.
CAKE
I had the cake pan already, and had figured out how to decorate it for Charlotte's birthday (top) so doing it again for Lizzie was a breeze (bottom).
PARTY FAVORS
For Charlotte's party (top), each kid got a bucket with their name painted on it filled with some ball-pit balls and a duckie or two. Lizzie's friends got a plastic cup filled with York Peppermint Patty Pieces - the water - with a rubber duckie sitting on top, all wrapped in cellophane (bottom). They also got a little thing of bubbles
MONTHLY PHOTO BANNER
Charlotte (top) got a banner going across the fireplace with a picture for every month. We don't have a fireplace at the new house so for Lizzie (bottom), I made them smaller and put them around the high chair. I think it worked out just a cute.
I am pleased with how the "Backdrop" for the high chair went; I just took some yellow crepe paper and tied it through one of the blind slats and let it hang down. Super easy!
BALL-PIT
I think I have put out a ball-pit (baby pool + ball pit-balls) for EVERY birthday party that has been at the house. The kids love it... clearly! Charlotte (top), Lizzie (bottom)
DUCKIE ACTIVITY
Taking a page from my car party playbook, I made duckie crayons using a silicone mold. Then the kids got to color some duckie pages that I downloaded online.Linking up: Crafty Moms Share, I Heart Nap Time , Nifty Thrifty Things , Pretty Life in the Suburbs , DIY Show off , CRAFT , Creating my way to Success , Keeping it Simple , Romance on a Dime , Elizabeth and Co , Homework , Bowl full of Lemons , Chef in Training , Not just a Housewife , Accidentally Wonderful ,
What a gret party- love the photos on the high chair. That duck cake is cool as well- I remember my mum making me a duck cake for my third birthday with chocolate wafer beaks and my grandfather pulled one of them out to eat and the whole cake fell apart!
ReplyDeleteDecember birthdays are difficult, but you pulled off a super easy fun party. I have a friend with two kids each with a December birthday. She plans parties for them in January.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great party! Thanks for linking up at Take it on Tuesday!
