{Pinned There, Done That} Sidewalk Paint

I realized it had been a while since I did anything from my "Fun Stuff to do with the kiddos" board on pinterest, so I chose this pin, Sidewalk Paint from Hammer & Thread.

It was a breeze and the kids had fun! Next time I will add more food coloring, it all kind of looked the same color.

It was a fun little Sunday project that the kids got a kick out of.

{Pinned there, Done that} Tuscan Sausage Soup

My girlfriend had a baby a few weeks ago and I was planning to go on over to say Hi (after family are now gone) so I decided to bring dinner. In making this week's menu plan, I came across Tuscan Sausage Soup (that I had pinned) and the recipe said it made a lot so I thought, "Perfect!".

This soup was AWESOME! No joke! BUT she wasn't kidding when she said to use her biggest pot. THIS is the pot I had to use (and actually, I started with a smaller pot and had to transfer it all over).

I gave my friend about half, we had soup for dinner (and we both had seconds), the girls really enjoyed it, we have some leftover, AND I froze a few cups worth for future.

The only thing I would change is to cook your noodles separate; my absorbed WAY too much liquid and were kind of squishy. I would have even prepared the noodles and brought them to my friend in a separate container for her to add in when they reheated the soup. And I definitely would not freeze it with the noodles in there.
Tuscan Sausage Soup
Serves 12
via Feast on the Cheap
... who was via A Couple in the Kitchen
470 cal/serving (Calorie Count)
Ingredients:
2 lbs. sweet Italian sausage
3 carrots, peeled and chopped
1 sweet onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
3 quarts chicken broth
2 14.5-ounce cans diced tomatoes, with juice
2 15-ounce cans cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
1 tablespoon dried basil
half a box to a whole box whole wheat shell pasta, uncooked
8 ounces spinach leaves
salt and pepper to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese for topping (if desired)
Directions:
1. Remove sausage from casings and brown over med-high heat in the bottom of your largest stockpot. Crumble the sausage as you brown it.
2. Add the carrots, onion and garlic and saute until tender and starting to turn a bit golden, about 7 minutes.
3. Add the chicken broth, tomatoes, beans, pasta and basil. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cover the pot and continue cooking until pasta becomes a bit tender, about 7 minutes.
4. Stir in the spinach and cook until just wilted. Taste and season with salt and pepper, according to your preference.
5. Serve hot garnished with grated parmesan, if desired.

I enjoyed this immensely!

The "House Guest Book"

So, the other day I was stuck at the car dealership (with all 3 girls) getting the car serviced and I managed to flip through a few magazines (yes... I did say I was there with all 3 girls AND I read a magazine... miracle I know)... but that's besides the point, anyway, I was perusing my latest Southern Living and came across their "Secrets to Southern Charm" section and was immediately intrigued!

Now I'm a Jersey girl... nothing southern about that, right? BUT I spent 5 years at Clemson in South Carolina (totally Southern) and I've always considered myself to be a southern girl at heart so I jumped right in.

It was a very good list and I actually did some of them already (have a signature drink at parties) BUT one got me excited and I decided right then and there that I was going to do it. That was #203... "Revive the House Guest Book". I LOVE this idea! What a perfect way to remember visits both large and small; from playdates with one of two buddies to our annual Christmas Cocktail party. Genius. Really. And I knew exactly where to put it; my hubby's Great Uncles antique desk that sits in our front hall that hubby and my dad refinished.

Pretty, huh? ALSO, I was even MORE excited because I thought this was the perfect tradition to start with our new home since we just moved in. So off I ran to Target to look for the MooreBabies new house guest book... but I didn't quite find one that I wanted; the ones at Target were more practical than pretty enough to sit on a gorgeous antique desk.

So I ran to Barnes and Noble and SUCESS!

I did have to sort of back-fill since I just bought it and we've had people over already but I am super excited to have a record of all gatherings hosted at our house!

Pizza Night #17: 1st Pizza Night in the NEW House!

We have officially been in the new house for 5 weeks and I think I am starting to get myself into a routine... which has been kind of hard because IN those 5 weeks we had house guests 3 times (ok, so it was just my parents for 2 times but STILL... a house guest is a house guest), went to Busch Gardens twice, celebrated Easter, and had my daughters 4th birthday party. Phew!

We did manage to start up on of our old traditions, Homemade Pizza Night, which was so fun! The girls love to watch daddy toss the pizza dough and help put on all the toppings. We didn't try a new pizza recipe, we just stuck with good old premade publix dough, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom.

 And Voila...
